MSCI is one of the biggest global leaders in index inovation. Their calculations help organisations reach their goals by integrating factors, thematic insights and sustainability considerations. Those calculations are used to understand risks and opportunities so organisations can make better decisions.
As part of a wider marketing campaign MSCI started the Explainer Series, with a goal to take some of its key index data and turn this into an easier to digest information in the form of animation.

I was the Lead Animator responsible for all Explainer Series, ensuring that all content follow connected art direction, so it can be recognized as part of a series. I made sure that everyone involved followed the MSCI Brand Guidelines, and used the appropriate font, colour and graphic designs. I created the illustrations (icons), animated, storyboarded and directed the creative direction of this film, as well as selecting music, adding and arranging voice over, and choosing suitable footage.
The challenge with this series, was to figure out a way to explain how each index and the GICS sectors are affected. So I came up with the idea of "isolating" and "gathering", using the MSCI colours to distinguish positive (green), neutral (orange), negative (red) or not in use (greyed out).
